MIS Network Utilities batsrv21.zip - Free Downloads at Simtel.net the routine task of your network maintenance. It is also useful to
developers of distributed software components, allowing execution of
commands from remote sites without leaving development PC. This
program incorporates two parts: BatchSrv.exe runs on a remote computer
and displays an icon in the tray, and HostRun.exe, a client utility,
that instructs a remote computer to run a specified command. Runs on
Win95/98/NT.
The unique set of features of the Batch Server includes:
- No user interface shell, just a plain command line, which allows you
to easily incorporate remote command invokation into a plain batch
file, or a script, or put a shortcut on desktop to perform any task
on any PC with just a click of a mouse. You may also run it from a
Microsoft Windows Scheduler to initiate backup on your server, or call it from
your program by executing external command.
- Small footprint on a server. The resident component BatchSrv.exe is
32K.
- Proprietary communication protocol, which reduces chances of
intrusion.
- Economical compared to commercial remote control software.
